My Elderberry Syrup recipe uses premium dried elderberries. This simple yet potent syrup blends the antioxidant power of elderberries with the comforting warmth of cinnamon, the zesty kick of ginger, and the soothing sweetness of raw honey. Perfect for all ages, this homemade remedy not only supports your immune system with its natural ingredients but also boasts rich, harmonious flavors. Free from artificial additives, this syrup recipe offers a versatile wellness solution that can be enjoyed by the spoonful, in tea, or over your favorite foods. As usual, all of our tastes are different. You can adjust this recipe however you like...enjoy!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup elderberries
- 4 cups purified water
- 1 cinnamon stick for antioxidant warmth
- 1 tbsp. freshly grated ginger (or 1 tsp. powdered ginger) for anti-inflammatory zest
- 1/2 tsp. whole cloves for antioxidants
- 1 cup raw, unfiltered honey for natural sweetness and antibacterial benefits
- Juice from one organic lemon for a vitamin C boost (opt.)

Instructions:
1. Rinse: Briefly rinse the dried elderberries to remove any dust.
2. Simmer: In a saucepan, combine elderberries, water, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for about 45-60 minutes, until the liquid reduces by half.
3. Strain: After cooling slightly, strain the mixture through a fine mesh or cheesecloth, pressing the berries to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
4. Sweeten: When the liquid has cooled to below 95°F to preserve honey's beneficial enzymes, stir in the honey until fully dissolved, then add the lemon juice for freshness.
5. Bottle: Pour the syrup into clean, sterilized bottles or jars. Use a funnel for ease.
6. Store: Refrigerate for extended freshness. The syrup should last several weeks.

Daily Use Directions (Varies per person):
- When using, I take 1 tbsp. of Elderberry Syrup daily, first thing in the morning prior to cold and flu season. If I'm dealing with symptoms of a cold or flu, I increase 1-2 tbsp., up to twice daily. Ask your doctor and listen to YOUR body.
- You can take this straight up, in beverages (tea, warm water, smoothies), with food (oatmeal or yogurt), on pancakes or waffles...whatever you prefer!
